Unleash the Fitness Adventure Goddess within!

 

The Aurora Adventure Goddess 12 Week Challenge is a specifically designed training program to enable you to change how you look, feel and think about health, fitness and wellbeing and unleash the Adventure Goddess within.

This program provides a holistic approach to achieving optimal health.  Over 12 weeks our training team have put together a step-by-step guide to transform your body, lifestyle, mind and focus to allow you to become the best you can be.  Our team of experts in the fields of fitness & exercise physiology, nutrition, sports psychology, physiotherapy and sports medicine will provide you with ongoing guidance and information throughout the challenge to supplement and enhance your training program.  This ensures that you not only achieve real life changing results during the program but that you learn the skills and develop the mindset to maintain that change as you continue on your fitness journey.

The beauty of this program is that it can be done anywhere and at any time. You don’t need a gym membership or to buy expensive equipment.  You can’t use the excuse of not being able to get to the gym because you’re away for work or have commitments at home.  This is a completely remote training program that utilises your personal training team of experts in their fields to teach you how to use two simple but very important things to achieve your result - your body and your mind.

And of course, what’s an Aurora Adventure without a goal.  Select one of our Aurora Charities and have your family and friends sponsor your charity to motivate you to achieve your fitness and weight-loss goals.  As always our Aurora Adventure Goddess Challenges are about feeling good both outside and in.

Your Training Team:

Team Coach: Adam Garred

Your Team Coach is Aspire Fitness & Rehabilitation Exercise Physiologist and strength and conditioning expert Adam Garred who will set your program and coach you over the 12 weeks.

Adam specialises in sport specific training and musculo-skeletal injury rehabilitation. Prior to working at Aspire Adam has been Head of Athletic Performance at UQ Rugby Club and Academy since 2007, and has also worked as a performance coach with the QLD Reds, QLD Reds academy and Melbourne Rebels. While still keeping involvement with UQ Rugby’s Premier Grade Side, Adam is also Head of Strength and Conditioning with Redlands AFC and currently works with two elite swimmers. Adam’s expertise also stretches to work with national and state level athletes in netball, tennis, rowing, and athletics.

 

Team Nutritionist: Sally Garrard

Your Team Nutritionist is Sally Garrard from Apple to Zucchini.  Sally is a qualified Sports Dietician & Exercise Physiologist specialising in sports nutrition, weight management and meal planning.

Sally is the consultant dietician to the Queensland Academy of Sport (track & field, rowing, & hockey squads) and also the Australian Sports Commission’s National Officiating Program – a program designed to support the most ‘up & coming’ sporting officials and referees in Australia’s national sports. Other consultant work ranges from sweat & hydration testing with the Socceroo’s in the lead-up to their World Cup games, to optimising the nutrition practices of QLD junior development clinics

 

Team Physiotherapist: Sarah Grimstone

Your Team Physio is Sarah Grimstone from the industry leading allied sports medicine clinic, the Queensland Sports Medicine Centre.  Sarah graduated from the University of Queensland in 2002 with 1st class honours and was awarded a university medal for outstanding achievement. She has worked both in Australia and the UK and now splits her time between Physiotherapy, Movement Conditioning and Pilates.

Sarah has a background in gymnastics at National level and runs the Trunk Conditioning and Core Stability program at the Brisbane Lions Football Club. She also enjoys working with gymnasts, dancers and acrobats.

Team Psychologist: Matt Ahlberg

Your Team Sports Psychologist is Matt Ahlberg, a Director of Mental Notes Consulting.   Matt holds a Masters degree in Sport & Exercise Psychology from The University of Queensland and consults to athletes of various ages, ability levels, and sports across the country.

Matt is currently the sport psychologist with the QAS men’s hockey team and QAS rowing squad and also works with the Queensland Blades men’s hockey team. Outside of the QAS, Matt consults to national and state sporting organizations, schools and colleges, private sporting academies and corporate teams.

What to Expect?

Prior to the start of the challenge you will receive your welcome and information kit.  For each week of the challenge you will receive your weekly training program from your coach together with regular advice from your nutritionist, sports psychologist or physiotherapist to assist you to reach your goals for that week of training.  Your coach will show you how to take regular benchmark measures at specific times throughout the program so that you can gauge your progress and see the results of all your hard work.

The Aurora Adventures Goddess Team will help you set up your fundraising page with Everyday Hero to enable your friends and family to support you on your fitness adventure.

A supervised session if you need it…

 

For those of you that like the idea of a session or two with a trainer to ‘keep you honest’ our 12 week Challenge Plus program allows you to attend a group session once a week at Aspire Fitness & Rehabilitation in addition to your remote program*
